Happy 2022 to all of our PKD Community members! When we opened our virtual doors on July 1, 2021, we knew a PK Deficiency Foundation was needed but were so pleasantly surprised with the volume of love and support we would receive in our first six months. We ended 2021 with our 501(c)(3) designation, a website that went to 37 countries in the first month, and enough donations to keep us in operation and to start our Clinical Trials Awareness Program coming later in the spring. We are so excited to welcome in the first full calendar year of operation and have lots of exciting projects and programs starting. This particular newsletter focuses on a project that we are especially pleased to be presenting. PK Deficiency, although celebrating it’s 60th anniversary as a rare disease, has never had an official day. Now we do! In this newsletter you will find links to the official PKD Day page and links to two important fundraisers we are starting today. Our See’s Candy Valentine’s fundraiser, in celebration of PKD day, is going now thru January 28 for your V-day gifting. We are registered now on Amazon Smile where you can put in the Foundation as your charity, bookmark the page and give PKDF a percentage of every order you make. Both links are below. Be sure you have pulled us up at www.pkdf.org this month and are following us on social media links as well as provide us your email contact (completely private) so that we can continue to send our monthly newsletters and upcoming blog posts.
